Ms. Keys is a highly accomplished lighting programmer and director. She is currently chief executive officer and technical choreographer of Key Lighting Inc., roles she has held since 2014.

Before her current endeavors, Ms. Keys served as a lighting programmer and designer at the Walt Disney Co. from 2007 to 2014. There, she contributed to numerous high-profile projects, including the iconic "World of Color" at Disney California Adventure, which remains one of her most cherished achievements. She began her career in lighting design as an electrician and house manager at Fullerton College, where she honed her technical skills before moving on to roles at Audio Visual Technology and California State University, Fullerton.
Ms. Keys holds a bachelor's degree in technical theater from California State University, Fullerton, which laid a solid foundation for her career. She credits her passion for lighting design to her early involvement in theater and the encouragement of mentors, particularly Susan Hallman, who guided her to shift her focus to lighting. Her transition from performer to lighting designer allowed her to combine her artistic sensibilities with her technical skills. The result has been an emotional connection between performers and audiences.
Throughout her career, Ms. Keys has made significant contributions to the entertainment industry. She has received numerous awards, including the IAAPA Honors 2024 for most creative spectacle and an Emmy nomination for outstanding lighting design in 2021. She has also earned the Excellence in Live Design Award for "Venue Mad Tea Party" in 2013 and the Outstanding Achievement Nighttime Spectacular Award for "World of Color" in 2010.
Ms. Keys has shared her expertise in various publications, including "The Automated Lighting Programmer's Handbook" and "Collected Light Volume 3: Women in Entertainment Lighting."
In addition to her professional achievements, Ms. Keys remains passionate about mentoring young professionals and fostering creativity within the industry. She is an active member of the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees, the Television Academy and the Screen Actors Guild.
